(-) Days found guilty by whom and why: A Guilt Graph

Chocolate wrappers and acetone transfer on hand-cast paper cubes, Ongoing, 24ft x 10ft

(-) Days Found Guilty by Whom and Why is an ongoing installation composed of chocolate wrappers and acetone transfers on handmade paper cubes. For this work, I consume a piece of chocolate each time I feel guilty and record the reason. I keep the wrappers and use acetone transfer to document both the frequency and nature of my guilt.

Studies suggest that women experience internalized guilt at significantly higher rates than men. This piece seeks to reframe the connotation of feminine guilt by rewarding myself in place of punishment. Through this process, I aim to transform guilt from a negative force into a moment of self-compassion.
